Welcome

Welcome to Weymouth!

Weymouth is one of the UK’s sunniest and most popular holiday destinations. Steeped in history, the golden beach, Georgian waterfront and 17th century harbour have everything you need to enjoy the classic English beach holiday.

King George III ‘took the waters’ here back in the eighteenth century, popularising the town as a holiday destination. The Georgian esplanade fronts on to the beach, and there are many hotels and guest houses with wonderful views across the bay.

The picturesque harbour is always busy with fishing boats, pleasure craft and the Condor ferries that run to Jersey and Guernsey. Speedboats offer tours of the coastline or whitewater rides.

The award winning Brewer’s Quay complex contains craft shops, the Timewalk, Weymouth’s museum, and a wonderful shopping village experience.

For the historically minded, the Nothe Fort, a Napoleonic era sea fort, is open for visitors. Sandsfoot Castle and Portland Castle date from the reign of King Henry VIII.

The town itself is vibrant, with two busy pedestrian shopping streets, a cinema complex, and cafes, bars, restaurants and inns, some dating back to the 17th Century.

Just a boat or bus ride away, the Isle of Portland is in easy reach, with its breathtaking views from the cliffs, a sculpture park, castles, Portland Bill and Chesil beach.
